| Description | Brief journal kept by William Pelham Clinton during a journey made from London to Aix-la-Chapelle in the company of his twin brothers Lord Charles and Lord Thomas Pelham Clinton. This journal, which ends 17 July, describes the first part of the grand tour of Europe made by the brothers from 13 July 1837. In it he describes the voyage to Antwerp and from there the journey to Brussels and Waterloo where they are given a guided tour of the battlefield. They then continued on to Liege and Aix la Chapelle, then a Prussian garrison town. |
