| Description | A collection of postcards sent by William A. Cadbury from Angola. He had travelled to Angola with Joseph Burtt to investigate the conditions of workers and the claims of enforced labour in the cocoa plantations. Some of the postcards are addressed to his small children, Joy, Alan and John at home in Birmingham whilst others are unwritten. |

| Administrative History | William Adlington Cadbury (1867-1957) entered the family business at Bournville in 1887 taking on responsibility for the introduction of new plant and machinery during a time of expansion for the firm. On the death of his father in 1899 he was appointed as a director of Cadbury Bros Ltd. In 1922 he became chairman of the company, a position he held until his retirement in 1937.
