Administrative History	T. J. Pickvance (b 1911) was appointed as temporary Staff Tutor in Natural Science in the Extra-Mural Department in 1949 and his appointment was made permanent in 1950. He was appointed as Senior Lecturer in 1961 and in April 1971 became Assistant Director (Sciences Courses), Extra-Mural Studies until his retirement in 1973
