New laws

New European privacy laws came into force in the UK in May 2012 which require websites to inform users when placing 'cookies' on their computers. This page provides information on what cookies are in use on this Calmview web site.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small piece of text that accompanies requests and pages as they go between our web server and your web browser. This cookie contains information our Calmview web application can read whenever a user visits our site.

What cookies do we use?

We use the ASP.NET_sessionID cookie. This cookie contains your session ID and it expires (is deleted) when you end your session (when you close your web browser).

What information is collected when you visit our site?

When you visit our Calmview pages we collect standard internet log information. We collect details of what records were searched for, which records were viewed and of any errors encountered when using our web site. Included in the data collected is the IP address of the computer used to connect to our site which allows us to see how many internal, and how many external, visitors we have had to our site.
