Description
Letter from the House of Commons on 6 May 1924 with reference to an invitation he writes 'we can't accept. My small boy of 7 has to undergo an operation on Thursday & my wife naturally won't leave him'. He says he is due to speak in Birmingham on Thursday and Friday but he hopes to spend the weekend with country neighbours. He asks if he will not be invited to lunch with him next week , and he believes that he and his wife are free next Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday but he has not consulted with her today. Accompanied by a typed transcript.
