DescriptionLetter sent on 27 February 1919 inviting him to be chairman of the proposed Committee on Old Age Pensions. The terms of reference for the committee would be 'To consider and report what alterations, if any, as regards rates of pension or means qualification should be made in the existing statutory scheme of old age pensions'. He suggests that he should have time to devote to this post, as 'I understand that you have asked to be relieved of the laborious task which you have discharged for so long at the War Trade Board.'
