DescriptionLetter dated 19 August, written from Fyfield Manor, Pewsey, Wiltshire, is headed 'Personal' and addressed 'My dear Max'. The first two paragraphs relate to his pedigree herd of Hereford cows. The subsequent paragraph concern the British Government's relations with the Egyptian Government: he makes reference to the purloining of Anglo-Egyptian oilfields by Colonel Nasser who he describes as 'at his old games again' and in this context expresses disapproval that a Egyptian Government mission is to visit Britain to meet firms 'with a view to getting credit to buy machinery'. He ends by making reference to the completion and publication of his second volume of his memoirs
