Alma-Tadema writes about his health: '[...] I am if anything worse since I followed the doctors advice to leave my house and comfort - nevermind I suppose I better be patient only one likes to profit by sacrifices'. He writes about attending a Brahms concert with his friend Lustner and Mrs Edward Speyer, at which his cousin Messchaert sang. He is glad to hear of Henschel's success and writes that he would love to visit but dare not make plans.
