DescriptionWritten from 17 Grove End Road, St John's Wood, N.W., dated 1 March. Alma-Tadema is sorry that his reply to Henschel never arrived. He asks how the Henschels are faring 'in the land of the sun & tall trees'. He continues the letter on 3 March, writing that his wife's state of health is now improving after three weeks' illness, but she will not be able to exhibit this year. Anna's eyes are a little better and she is able to paint again. He dined at the Carrs where he met Sargeant. He sends news of the Carrs and Millets and enquires about other friends.
