DescriptionWritten from 34 Grove End Road, St John's Wood, N.W. dated 6 June. Alma-Tadema thanks Henschel for lending paintings to the Laura Alma-Tadema memorial exhibition. He reports that the exhibition was a success and he sold £800 worth of sketches for the benefit of the Artists' General Benevolent Institution. He writes that the tree in his picture is not an almond tree but a Judas tree which grew in the villa Borghese. He and Anna enjoyed ?Wolfram's show and he intends to sit for him.
