| Description | Letter from John Fulleylove (1845-1908) landscape painter, written from 21 Church Row, Hampstead addressed 'Dear Sir Lawrence' dated 12 July. This letter accompanied a copy of 'my book on Greece' of which Alma-Tadema had promised to accept a copy and Fulleylove hopes that Alma-Tadema 'will find some interest in the subject of the pictures' and comments that it gave him 'great pleasure' to see Alma-Tadema's picture.
This letter was found in the presentation copy of the book, 'Greece' by J. A. McClymont and illustrated by John Fulleylove (London: A. and C. Black in 1906 ) which was part of Alma-Tadema's library which was presented to the University in 1947; this is now held in Special Collections book collection.
