| Title | Letter from Pratt to Rio Pongas missionaries [copy]: 27 April 1812: London |
| Extent | 1 doc. |
| Date | 1812 |
| Description | He has received news of the safe arrival of Wilhelm and the Kleins and also of Mrs. Wenzel's death. He rejoices that the schools prosper on Rio Pongas. Two Berlin students are to train in England for Africa and two Lutheran laymen have been recommended to help with the secular business; the latter may accompany Butscher on his return. The recent Special General Meeting of CMS was enthusiastic for missionary advance in India, and a deputation is to interview the government. If Nylander leaves S. L. the Committee would prefer that he worked among the Bulloms rather than with the Rio Pongas mission. Rickards is training for the S. L. Chaplaincy. |
