TitleLetter from Secretary to Nylander [copy]: 28 October 1809: London
Extent1 doc.
Date1809
DescriptionGovernor Edward Henry Columbine has assured CMS of his care for the Colony's religious interest and his readiness to consult Nylander's feelings. Nylander is meanwhile asked to be patient in any difficulties.
Permission is given Nylander to marry, with allowance of £25 for his wife, but the utmost economy is urged.
The Committee will seriously consider a mission to the Bullom; meantime they recommend Nylander to study the language and lay the foundation for a grammar.
Committee is unwilling to incur the expense of a canoe until the missionaries have proved able to live within their salaries, but would consider it if useful for mission necessities.
