| Description | Gives Wenzel's letter describing Nylander's reception of the Wenzels and Barneth when detained by Dawes in Freetown [see 9]. Nylander resented their lodging with him and was tyrannical and quarrelsome, demanding full pay for their board and service and showing no compassion for Mrs. Wenzel's illness. By misunderstanding Barneth took a copper pot of Nylander's away and Nylander wrote to Butscher that they were manifest theives and wrote insultingly of Mrs. Wenzel. |
