Her death has broken up the night-school and the government will find it most difficult to replace her in the day-school. No woman could live on the low salary. Nylander has never witnessed such poverty as exists in S. L., especially now that the S. L. Company's interests have been transferred to the Colony. Lately, however, a benevolant society has been founded to help [see 47]. |
