DescriptionThe house must be rebuilt before another rainy season, or the walls will collapse. He struggles to learn Susu but has to get rid of his Susu girl because of her bad influence on the children.
15 Oct was a day of trouble. The Foulahs were invading and burning towns and Fantimani advised them to go to Bashia in Renner's canoe, but they returned in 2 days as the Foulahs had retreated. Some traders have spread the rumour that the missionaries are government spies, thereby causing unrest and suspicion and fear of further Foulah trouble.
26 Dec: Canoffee: As Fantimani and the traders had sent away property and their women against Foulah attack, Klein thought that similar precautions should be taken, but Renner was unwilling.
