| Description | Butscher sailed on 6 Mar for London via Lisbon on HMS 'Sabrina'. Governor Maxwell summoned all Rio Pongas traders to S. L. to give evidence against the traders Samo and Hickson. Attorney-General Biggs wrote to Renner and Wenzel for their assistance. Wenzel, needing funds and timber, went to S. L. on 5 Apr and gave information to the Governor about the attitude of the Susu headmen. Samo was found guilty at trial 7-8 Apr; Hickson was acquitted 9 Apr. The Kleins and Wilhelm are well. Wenzel returns to Rio Pongas 14 Apr. |
