| Title | Letter from Butscher to Secretary: 23 April 1813: Sierra Leone |
| Extent | 1 doc. |
| Date | 1813 |
| Description | Nylander cannot accommodate Mrs. Butscher for her confinement but Governor Maxwell has offered his country house for this purpose and also for the rainy season. Butscher has bought with his wife's money a town lot with a small unfinished house, and also 5 acres outside town with a coffee plantation and house. As a year's notice must be given to realise the sum, Butscher offers her London property to CMS as security for advance of the money, unless CMS prefers his S. L. purchases as security. He has given a bill for these purchases to Michael Macmillan. The Governor lent him a craft to return to Bashia and communicate CMS instructions to the missionaries and return to S. L. The Wenzels and Meisners are coming to S. L. for the birth of their children. Mrs. Nylander's boy has arrived. |
