| Extent | 1 doc. |
| Date | 1815 |
| Description | He left S. L. because of his wife's illness, and Dr. Wilford's opinion that she could not endure the climate. She would not agree to part from him, therefore he left with her, although having to pay his passage. She fell so ill on the voyage that they had to leave the ship. She is now better and he is collecting some children to teach. He was grieved to leave S. L. and the 100 children they were teaching there. He found no language difficulty. Col. Chisholm and MacCarthy have encouraged them to stay as long as his wife keeps well. He has more than 20 schoolchildren and his wife will now take others.
