DescriptionHe gives an account of Major Appleton's very successful expedition against the slavers. The trade seems to have been killed on the river and the missionaries are under protection.
Renner was asked to approach Hati [?] to deliver up some slaves he was holding but found that he had set the natives against him. Capt. Cooper failed to rescue him and he was detained prisoner for days but finally allowed to leave for Bashia after offering securities.
