| Title | Letter from Renner: [September 1814?] |
| Extent | 1 doc. |
| Date | 1814 |
| Description | Remarks on his 1814 account. He justifies his redemption of 4 slaves against CMS orders: the blacksmith and carpenter were needed for boat building and will teach the boys their trades; the tailor was needed to assist Mrs. Renner. The 2 canoes were necessary replacements. He complains of having to pay twice for the yard bell because of fraud by Godolphin. He has charged CMS for sums due from traders who have 6 children in the school. The £100 for his wife's house, and his own gold watch, objected to by his colleague, are clearly shown in the account as not involving the objector's salary. |
