TitleLetter from Pratt to Wenzel [copy]: 25 November 1814: London
Extent1 doc.
Date1814
DescriptionHe will not be charged for outfit items sent by the 'Neptune'. He should order what he wants in furture and it will be sent consigned to Canoffee. It is hoped, in time, to meet Munkge Amara's request for a settlement but Wenzel should stay in Canoffee.

Klein's salary account seems duplicated in parts. Approval is given to Klein's receiving all he can in goods with which he can trade or supply his needs. This will foster understanding. A church bell is being sent for Christ Church Canoffee. Pratt thinks that Wenzel's main task now should be preaching. The Susus hold them trustworthy and if missionaries speak Susu they will be listened to attentively. Rather than ransom the boys he wants to work for him, which is being objected to as supporting the slave trade, he should let Butscher choose some from the Governor's captured children, and aim at building a settled working community, as do the United Brethren. Pratt deprecates his plan to bring his son to England for education.
