TitleLetter from Wenzel to Pratt: 20 April 1815: Canoffee
Extent1 doc.
Date1815
DescriptionAfter the fire at Bashia Wenzel and Klein were in favour of concentrating the mission at Canoffee. At the missionaries' meeting in S. L. Wenzel accompanied Renner who did not disclose that the Committee also favoured this course.

Rebuilding has been delayed by the carpenter's leaving in Nov but he has now hired 2 in S. L.

The demands of the headmen for presents have grown extortionate since the quashing of the slave trade but Fernandez is still friendly.

He gives directions for securing the £200 deposited with Rev. Thomas Scott (who wishes to be free of the trust) in favour of his son.
