DescriptionMr. Jost's effects have been sold and the little fetched for personal property given to his widow. The remainder is credited to CMS. He has given Capt. Norquay a bill upon CMS for £50 for Mrs. Jost's passage.
The Governor and Chief Justice have refused him leave to resign before the new chaplain arrives.
He has rented out his Freetown premises at £80 p.a. thus making himself independent of CMS. He has taken possession of the Society's house, temporarily installing the library there, and whilst he remains government chaplain will pay rent on it.
