Title16 September 1816: London: Bickersteth to Butscher [copy]
Extent1 item
Date1816
DescriptionA girl by name of Mary Ellcock accompanied them from Barbados and there Lieut. Allen died. Calverly Riley, the Methodist, was not there.
No new permanent building must be undertaken for the present as Lord Bathurst has hinted that the increase in recaptured people will not long continue. CMS is facing heavy demand on its resources and the ecomony is not good. Temporary buildings may be improved.
CMS plans to send out 3 English clergymen to the Colony soon but in the meantime wishes Butscher to give as much time as he can spare to Regents Town.
