Description	He encloses a copy of a memorial presented by CMS to Bathurst on the extent to which CMS will commit itself to Africa. Bathurst promises, so far as he may, to support their proposals relating to chaplains and schoolmasters - proposals that MacCarthy supports. Bathurst intends to authorise MacCarthy to appropriate a greater proportion of his building grant for work on churches (at present there being £1000 appointed for 5 years). He advised CMS not to undertake major permanent projects at Leic. Mt. until they know better the prospects.
