DescriptionThe Renners are still living in the church. He hopes to finish his vessel by Christmas and to send it to S. L. with his wife. He and Butscher think it advisable to have the new house they have built transferred with the lot to the Society. Caulker and Lancaster returned from S. L. with him [see E5/11].
A slaver came and took away 200 people. This occurrence has revived all the old evils including the exchange of rice for rum. Mungke Bake took no part, but many who recently took the oath of allegiance and were pardoned reverted to their old ways.
Postscipt: Fires are depressingly frequent and recently the school roof was fired by one of their own children.
