TitleLetter from Nylander to Pratt: 23 January 1816: Yongroo
Extent1 doc.
Date1816
DescriptionHe describes the deterioration of relations between himself and Sperrhacken and feels that their marital problems contributed much to this. Sperrhacken set himself up in opposition to Nylander and ordered children to speak Temne not Bullom. They were also very abusive to Mrs. Nylander, but Nylander did not return this but tended to Sperrhacken as well as the man would allow during his fatal illness. Mrs. Sperrhacken has not yet recovered her sanity. In the course of all this Nylander was unable to do any translation work. He has had to build a new house for his girls and has to pay £2 5s for Mrs. Sperrhacken who is now in S. L.
