Description | He is opposed to the refusal of baptism to those married by Christian rites and attending church, and to their children, by CMS missionaries, on the grounds of insufficient knowledge of the Christian faith. He thinks it will lead to their leaving the Church in disgust and to their being denied Christian burial. He contrasts this refusal with the practice of Butscher and Wenzel. He deprecates also the omission on occasions of phrases of the burial service and the singing of the National Anthem. |
