Johnson, Tamba and himself have been on an excursion of about 130 miles around the Colony, and he is soon to undertake a longer journey down the coast [see E7A/9] making use of Tamba and Davies' knowledge of native languages. Tamba and Davies are both ex-slaves and will be running the risk of their old masters recognizing and seizing them.
