DescriptionHe gives a detailed account of the ceremony of the red water and the Bankeleh spirit superstitions which are still prevalent among the Bulloms.
He does not regret moving to Kissy from Bullom but feels that he and the other missionaries placed as superintendants of towns for captured enslaved people are too encumbered by duties of secular administration. He has about 500 people in his care at Kiss[e]y and finds himself unable to fulfill his spiritual responsibilities.
