| Title | Letter from Pratt and Bickersteth to Nylander [copy]: 14 July 1819: London |
| Extent | 1 doc. |
| Date | 1819 |
| Description | The Committee do not feel that the slave trade is too severe an obstacle to the mission. They are still considering whether to re-establish a Bullom mission. They approve his idea of a school to educate children in the Bullom language. The assembling in S. L. of natives from so many different tribes gives great opportunities by converting them to spread Christianity in Africa. They do not feel that the offices of missionary and village superintendant are incompatible. All missionary work is bound to have secular aspects. |
