Extent1 doc.
Date1819
DescriptionBeing independent of the Society they may most usefully act as "confidential friends" of CMS, and as disinterested counsellors of the missionaries. Local direction of the mission will come from the quarterly meetings of missionaries which they will also attend.
They are to investigate whether Klein's and Renner's habits are still "intemperate". There is reason, in particular, to suspect Klein and if this is borne out his connexion will be severed. They should also make enquiries regarding Society property at Leic. Mt. and Freetown.
The salary for a native teacher is to be £40 p.a. if unmarried, £80 p.a. if married. An unmarried schoolmistress or widow of a European serving the mission should receive £75 p.a.
