DescriptionBowley reported favourably upon establishing a mission at Buxar, and thinks it more promising than Chunar; C. proposed that Adlington should occupy the house offered by Jay Naraine, but should be supported by CMS; Naraine should make CMS trustees for his endowment of the school for general learning, the schoolmaster being free to receive enquirers after school hours; Fyz Masih was offered 30 rupees per month to stay, but prefers to fulfil his promise to Mrs. Law at Bareilly for 20 rupees per month; Colonel Francklin is interesting himself in the Buglipour Christians; Adlington reports that a European missionary is needed at Agra, Abdul Masih being in bad health; the school also deserves help, as Mr. Lyon cannot give more time unless supported by CMS; some parts of Dr. Bell's system will be introduced when practicable [copy]
