Calcutta Corresponding Committee have purchased, in preference to Aldeen, McWhirter's estate near Kidderpore school, easily accessible from Calcutta and with ample accommodation and room to expand; Calcutta Corresponding Committee welcomes the discretionary power conferred by the Parent Committee regarding salaries, as present rates are too low; Kidderpore school has opened with 33 pupils, as requested by the Hindu who gave the land; as Robertson can no longer accommodate the Hindustani boys, they will be transferred to the mission house [see 9]
