DescriptionPresent: Mr. Garron, Rev. Dr. Rottler, Mr. Strachan, Rev. Thompson, secretary, 17 Aug:
1. Not yet sufficient supporters to form an auxiliary society; suggested therefore that 'an address to Christians in India on behalf of the Church Missionary Society in London' be circulated to committee members, subscribers and friends
2. The £500 allowed to Madras by headquarters will be used immediately for missionaries' salaries and a copy of the committee's accounts sent to England by the treasurer
3. The sum allowed for payment of Tranquebar schools is insufficient and the Calcutta committee will continue to pay them
4. A plan for a seminary for native missionaries is to be drawn up in concurrence with the Madras missionaries and brought before the committee; Mr. Garron suggested including country-born youths
5. Mr. Norton to be placed at Major Munro's disposal at Travancore
6. From 1 Sep the treasurer will pay all house-rent for Schnarre and Rhenius
