Description
Making good progress in Tamil studies; opened a Tamil and English Free school with 47 pupils; there have been frequent applications from Roman Catholics for Tamil New Testaments; nine heathen have applied for instruction; would be glad of blank maps of the world so that he may fill in names in Tamil; awaiting equipment left behind in London; the packets sent to Captain Poignand of the Madras Establishment have not yet arrived; awaiting arrival of Norton and Greenwood with the next fleet; glad to hear of the peace between England and America.
