DescriptionSends 52; spiritually Colombo is in a sad state; the schools flourish; Trincomallee would make a good mission station; will not be able to go permanently to Travancore until Apr as Mrs. Norton is expecting a baby; from observation and accounts deems it necessary for two missionaries to be stationed together and asks for Bailey to be sent with him; gives list of his share of books (53 books); begs for no more missionaries to be sent out in their circumstances as they had great trouble with the provisions, having no-one to prepare food, and running short before they reached Ceylon.
