Ignorant state of people; suggested to Munro that girls should be brought up and educated by the missionaries; estimated cost 20 rupees each per annum; Munro hopes to give something; Captain Gordon and Mr. Walcott have offered 9 rupees per month each; the necessary building will cost about 2000 rupees; encloses 25; house is in a bad state, roof slopes inwards, it lacks foundations and rain pours in from all directions; repairs will cost 200 rupees [copy]
