Description	Glad to hear of establishment by natives in Madras of Public English school and the formation of society for translating native sacred books from Sanscrit into the vernacular; establishment of schools and circulation of scriptures calls for care and labour; look out for duly qualified people for schoolmasters, from whom catechists and missionaries must be derived; committee desire scriptures to be introduced by degrees and read in all the society's schools; glad to hear tours are so frequent; highly approve Rhenius' journey to the Jainas (copy).
