TitleLetter from Pratt to Rhenius: 29 September 1819: London
Extent1 doc.
Date1819
DescriptionAcknowledges R.'s appeal to Corresponding Committee; will have seen from previous letter (91) that Committee's opinions were decided from R.'s letters alone, and expect that this will dispose him to take their advice; "the spirit and temper with which you have conducted yourself toward the Corresponding Committee have been manifestly unChristian and improper ..... (it) is so contrary to "that mind that was in Christ Jesus", so pernicious in its influence on others, so destructive in the tendency of ministerial and missionary usefulness, that the Committee feel it requisite to state explicitly, that, should it not be corrected and suppressed, they will be laid under the painful and necessity of requiring your return to Europe" (copy).
