DescriptionMissionaries have established several native schools which are doing well though they "never will do any good without the chaplains or missionary personal attendance"; is studying Tenugu [sic]; need for work amongst children of Portuguese, who are most neglected; a young man of the Veteran Battalion at Vizagapatam "a steady sober man of good character" would be suitable as schoolmaster; he would expect 5 pagodas a month, a house might be rented for 2 to 3 a month or a mud bungalow built for 10 or 12 pagodas; asks for Committee's advice.
