TitleLetter from Baker to Thompson: 8 September 1818: Tanjore
Extent1 doc.
Date1818
DescriptionEnlarges on differences between Greenwood's marriage and his own; Mrs. B. is not of the same family as Mrs. Greenwood (her uncle Mr. Kolhoff married a sister of Mrs. Greenwood) "Mrs. G. I understand is dark in her person, Mrs. B. is not more so than German families usually are. And with regard to the speedy accomplishment of marriage, as I arrived at Tanjore on the 12 Aug, was introduced to Miss K. on the following day, and not married till the 2 Sep, I trust it will be considered that I was not altogether unmindful of the value of the time I am spending here ..... nor of the importance of the step I was taking".
Postscript: Dr. Caemmerer has heard that the Danish Mission College mean to continue the mission and have sent him some money [copy]
