DescriptionPresents copies of address and St. Matthew's Gospel in Hebrew, published in one volume, for transmission to Jews in Travancore; believes that Jews will have the restoration of their fatherland in the present century and it is therefore necessary for them to be given gospel in their own language, Hebrew; the Society for Promoting Christianity amongst the Jews published in Hebrew St. Matthew's Gospel in 1813; Jarrett has distributed some of these; asked Moses Sargone to report on Jews in Travancore and Cochin; there are white Jews at Cochin and black Jews at Cochin, Cheriotta, Parvor near Cranganoro, Malla, Tritoor and Moodat; quotes previous books on subject and comments on possibility of some Cochin Jews being descended from the ten tribes of Israel [copy].
