Description
Casamajor's return to England is a very great loss; government have accepted the offer of part of the mission premises for the new church and are paying for the entire building; hope now to raise money for the college; according to Mr. Strachan's rough estimate "we shall probably require not less that £2500 for the present year" for all mission expenses; comments on papers brought to London by Mr. Casamajor; Mr. Jarrett was formerly engaged in a Malay translation of the Scriptures and became interested in the Jews after reading Buchanan's Christian Researches; Mr. Knill works for the London Missionary Society; Rhenius and Schmid are itinerating; Rhenius should this very day have laid foundation stone of mission church at Chittoor
