| Administrative History | The Ladies' Candidates Committee (LCC), was established 1887. It met roughly once every 2-4 weeks with a summer recess in August or August-September. It worked closely with the Candidates Committee of the Church of England Zenana Missionary Society and dealt mainly with the appointment and location of missionaries, responding to offers of service through correspondence and private interview. The LCC recommended candidates to go on to further training or to be accepted as missionaries and was authorised to arrange preliminary training for candidates for whom this was felt to be appropriate. The Training Sphere Sub-Committee met to determine the most appropriate training base for individual candidates. |
