Description/1: 3 August 1822: wishes to become a missionary in Malta; has learnt Hebrew, Arabic, Chaldaic, Syriac, Persian, English, French, Dutch and Italian; health is delicate and is inclined to melancholy.
/2: 8 October 1826: has been ill ever since his visit to England; proposes to tour Europe and asks if he can help the Society while on his travels; recommends Mr Kayser, a German who has applied to CMS; has been appointed Professor of Divinity at Halle.
/3: 14 January 1828: recommends Mr Pensel, a student at Rev Jaenicke's Institution, who wishes to go abroad as a missionary; since Jaenicke died there has been difficulty in finding posts for his students.
