/3: 3 May 1844: his wife has had a son prematurely and is still very delicate; is concerned about his Association district in England, but cannot resign; asks for headquarters to continue to manage his district until his return; reports work done for CMS at Paris, Tours, Nice and Geneva (travelled with bishop of Gibraltar from Nice to Genoa and then on to Turin and Mount Cenio).
