Includes correspondence relating to candidates and missionaries, the type of training being received by students at the Berlin Seminary, suggestions and arrangements for students in England and the Society's resolution to have personal knowledge of candidates further to the conduct of early recruits [Peter] Hartwig and [John Henry] Schulze. Rev Jaenicke's letters include references to unemployment and starvation in Berlin.

Physical DescriptionFrom the clerk's original numbering, letters numbered 18, 94-97, 107-108, 111, 113-124, 138, 144-145, 157, 159 and 160 appear to be missing. There are no letters numbered 68, 136 and 145 but this seems likely to be due to numbering errors.
