DescriptionPapers, correspondence and minutes most likely compiled due to the General Secretary's role as chief Candidates Secretary. The records predominantly concern general training and (less so) recruitment issues, training college accommodation and staffing matters (including appointment of the training college principals), with separate sequences of records relating to provision of training for men and women including papers and correspondence concerning changes of accommodation, plans and arrangements put in place due to the Second World War, a volume of regulations with names of men students 1825-1915 and minutes of the Islington College Visitors 1843-1915 and Training Colleges Governing Body 1938-1947. Also including small sequences of papers relating to the James Long Lectureship 1930-1942 and 1949 and a West Africa Scheme proposed by the YMCA 1944.
